List of city corporations in Bangladesh
There are 12 city corporations in Bangladesh.[1] Two of them are present in the capital Dhaka. One each is present in the other 7 divisional cities, with 3 others. They perform a variety of socio- economic and civic functions. [2]

City council
The City Council of Bangladesh is a city corporation's ward representatives who are elected by popular vote and are known as councillors. Councillors perform all ward development works and local government functions and assist the City Mayor in all works under the City Corporation and carry out his orders.
