Edmund Roberts (29 Juni 1784 – 12 Juni 1836) adalah seorang diplomat Amerika Serikat. Diangkat oleh Presiden Andrew Jackson, ia menjabat sebagai duta pertama Amerika Serikat untuk Timur Jauh, dan datang menggunakan USS Peacock pada misi diplomatik non-residen untuk pemerintahan Cochinchina, Thailand ("Siam") serta Muscat dan Oman pada tahun 1832–6.
Roberts membuat perjanjian dengan Thailand[3] dan Said bin Sultan, Sultan Muscat dan Oman,[4] yang diratifikasi di Washington, D.C. pada 30 Juni 1834. Ia kembali pada 1836 untuk bertukar ratifikasi dengan Oman dan Thailand serta pemerintahan Minh Mạng di Vietnam untuk upaya negosiasi kedua.[5] Ia terjangkit penyakit berat akibat disentri dan meninggal di Makau Portugis, yang menghalanginya untuk menjadi duta pertama Amerika Serikat untuk Edo Jepang.[6][7]

That treaty with Oman was part of a bigger picture. That bigger picture included Siam — today's Thailand — and Cochin China — today’s Vietnam. Edmund Roberts also traveled to those countries to initiate broader commercial ties.
