Zilayi Rural District (Persian: دهستان زيلائي) is in Zilayi District of Margown County, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Mushemi.[3]

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the former Margown District of Boyer-Ahmad County) was 11,041 in 2,163 households.[4] There were 10,595 inhabitants in 2,316 households at the following census of 2011.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 9,343 in 2,246 households. The most populous of its 83 villages was Bard-e Pahn-e Zilayi, with 1,059 people.[2]

In October 2018, Margown District was separated from Boyer-Ahmad County in the establishment of Margown County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Margown as its capital.[6]
