Mahata is a village in Bhatar CD block in Bardhaman Sadar North subdivision of Purba Bardhaman district in the state of West Bengal, India with total 1,311 families residing. It is located about 9.7 kilometres (6.0 mi) from West Bengal on National Highway towards Purba Bardhaman.[1]

Transport

At around 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Guskara, the journey to Mahata from the town can be made by bus and nearest rail station Guskura.[3]

Population

Mahata village of Barddhaman has substantial population of Schedule Caste. Schedule Caste (SC) constitutes 32.35% while Schedule Tribe (ST) were 21.97% of total population in Mahata village.[4][5]
